A
racehorse throws itself into the race & runs full tilt
to the finish line. The dressage horse is the epitome of
focus & control. The cutting horse juggles a calm &
steady demeanor with bursts of immense power. Endurance
horses race at much lower speeds (10-12 mph) for 100 miles
or more.
Ultium™ Competition Horse Formula is the new standard
in sports nutrition to help top equine athletes compete
at their highest level.
Ultium™
has been successfully field-tested across a wide spectrum
of competitive disciplines. |
Sustained
Energy System®
Features a unique blend of three (3) fuel sources:
1. Fat
2. Fermentable Fiber
3. Soluble carbohydrates (starch & sugar)
Ultium™ seamlessly “blends” fuel sources
to provide a “steady” level of “cool”
energy. An Ultium™ horse has the required energy to
excel at competition without having nervous energy. An Ultium™
horse is controllable & manageable, has the mental focus,
has the mindset to perform & has the best chance of winning.
Ultium™ is power when you need it. Reduced starch &
higher fat may reduce the risk of colic & other digestive
disturbances that may occur when feeding large quantities
of grain. The added vegetable oil promotes a change of glucose
& insulin to soluble carbohydrates. Leveling blood sugar
allows the horse to remain calm & focused.
A unique fatty acid profile
A blend of soy oil, flaxseed & rice bran provides
Omega-3 & Omega-6 fatty acids to promote healthy immune
function & improve hair, skin & hooves. Ultium™
is energy dense, resulting in prolonged stamina & endurance
while maintaining the equine athlete in peak competitive condition.
Ultium™ provides a reserve of “cool” energy—on
demand.
Added beet pulp
This highly digestible, fermentable fiber source
provides slow-released energy. Added fiber promotes good hindgut
health. Targeted Nutrition Delivery System™ transports
“repair” nutrients quickly to where they’re
needed most. A unique amino acid profile with added lysine,
threonine, tryptophan & methionine & top-quality fuel
sources replenish glycogen & protein stores in muscles
while aiding with muscle repair. This results in less muscle
fatigue for faster “bounce back” & readiness
to perform when called upon—competition after competition.
Ultium™ promotes muscle tone & a strong top line.
Balanced
vitamins & minerals like B-vitamins, iron, copper &
magnesium
These blood-building nutrients optimize red blood
cell production & increase oxygen capacity in horses being
exercised. Minerals are also involved in building & repairing
connective tissue & cartilage. The proper balance of calcium
& phosphorus promotes stronger bones. Vitamins E, C &
Selenium are powerful antioxidants that destroy “free
radicals,” promoting a healthier immune system &
reducing muscle damage. Vitamin E, a natural preservative,
improves product shelf life. |
Feeding
Guidelines: Because
Ultium™ is energy dense, less feed is required for maintenance
of body condition when compared to feeds with lower energy density,
such as straight grains. Unique, patented "pellets &
extruded nuggets" prevent sorting, reduce waste & transport
easily.
Start with the amounts given for the weight &
class of horse. However, individual horse variation may require
feeding rate adjustment by plus or minus 10-15%. Therefore, the
horse’s body condition should be assessed at regular intervals
(every 2-3 weeks) & the amount fed either increased or decreased
to maintain the desired body condition.
Changes
in diet should be gradual. A 7-10 day period should be allowed
for attainment of recommended feeding rates. Further increases
in feeding rate should not exceed one pound per day for an individual
horse.

When
fed as recommended, UltiumTM will provide no more than 0.3 ppm selenium
to the total diet.
Caution:
Follow label directions. Feeding added selenium at levels in excess
of 0.3 ppm in the total diet is prohibited.
